Standard

The monkey ladder reminded her of Rohan. How he teased her on being thin and short. The ladder was his. She was not to use it.

Suddenly the phone rang. “Ha! Think of the devil and the devil calls,” she thought. It was years since she had set eyes upon him. “How is he? Tall and handsome?” she wondered. Rohan was in Delhi. He wanted to meet her.

The café was teeming with dozens.

“Hi!” Her eyes met a wiry man, 3” shorter than her. It was Rohan.

A hundred lamps lit up her face. She had the last laugh.
