It starts with a thread

Creativity in any form is a treat to both the eyes and the mind. It brings out the artist in one. The gift of the Almighty is reflected in the end result of any work of art. It is something to be nurtured and savoured. Well, there is one such blog that I would like to introduce to you today , a blog simple in design but great in content, a blog that teaches us simple things that we can do on our own, things that bring out the best in us, help us discover our latent talent. It is none other than “TANTU” a blog for the fashion enthusiast.

What is ‘TANTU?’

To quote Sindhu the proud owner of the blog mentioned here “Tantu, which refers to a thread in Sanskrit, is the genome for textiles and fashion designing……… Tantu also refers to continuity. Continuity is the other name of fashion, while trends always change.”

About the blogger

Sindhu K Devi is an Indian fashion designer. A topper in Fashion designing from Mangalore University, Ms. Sindhu taught fashion designing for 5 years before deciding to become a full time fashion designer and home maker.

About ‘TANTU’

A blog simple in design yet rich in content and here when I say content, I mean it’s full of things that you and I can do, things that we all especially ladies, should know to do. Right from painting a designer saree to making a crochet mobile pouch it’s all in there.

The ideas, the instructions are all there. They are neatly packed under various categories like –

Now isn’t that great. Do visit “TANTU” . Who knows you may find something there that will help you decide what to gift your dear one on a special occasion and mind you it will be special because it will be exclusively handcrafted by you. Of course a part of the credit will go to Sindhu’s DIY tutorial. But then how do they know unless you tell them.

  1. I love the name of the blog. ‘Tantu’ is a very thoughtful one..the national organization for selling Bengali handmade sarees ( Tant Sarees) is named as “Tantusree” tantu = thread and sree= beauty ..

  2. Ok. I am artistically challenged, especially in the needle and thread department. SO I will content myself with gawking with awe at all these fabulous pieces. Looks very interesting, Geeta!
